Who do you recommend for domain name registration?

Just putting together a website and wondering how to choose from the scads of domain registration services out there. Are there a few that are very well known? Or certain services / features that I should look for or avoid?

I have used GoDaddy.com for my registrar for the past 4yrs now. I do not have any complaints with them and just the other day they refunded the reduced cost they negotiated with ICAN on the fee they must pay them for each domain name. It wasn’t much, but it was the meaning that they would not pocket the money they were just refunded.

They do offer other services, though I can not tell you about them as I do not need them, nor use them.

I would suggest not going to any registrar who charges over $10 a year for your domain. There are more than plenty out there that charge less than $10 a year. So paying more just is not a thing you have to do.

Whats a good social networking website domain name?

I need a good available domain name for a social networking website.

My advice is to try to think of a domain name yourself. If you want help, ask a trustworthy friend away from the Internet. Think of 2 or 3 possible names. The trouble with asking here is that someone else might take it first if it is a really good name.

You can find out if a particular domain name is available on any domain registration website or you can just try registering the domain name and, if it is not available, you won’t be able to register it..

Best "quality" doman site?

Hey, I’m looking for a domain name register that is "quality" and "powerful".

Well, basically, I want to be able to have subdomains pointing to other IP addresses, or other dirs on the site, plus of course, the main domain name pointing to an IP address, etc.

I do NOT want a website with the domain.
I’ve heard GoDaddy might work for me, but I dunno… any thoughts?

k thx by

I swear by godaddy so easy and cheap!

and great customer service!

Domain Name Trap?

I was contacted by a domain broker in the US (I’m in UK), and was given a very generous offer for a .com domain. After initiating a sell/buy via SEDO, I was sent a sale agreement by the broker. The agreement was a generic type, and specifies that both seller/buyer has the right to expect compliance with the agreement within a reasonable time.

Problem – I’ve signed and sent back the agreement, and SEDO have invoiced the buyer for escrow payment. That was 17 days ago. With such a time delay, I’ve contacted the buyer several times to enquire if they are still interested in the domain name, and why the payment has not arrived at SEDO. They fail to respond to all emails, though before contacting them was easy.

Problem – Am I legally bound to sell the domain name to them, no matter how long they intend to hold-back payment (weeks, months, years!), or is there a ‘reasonable time’ factor involved with such things? Have I been duped?

BTW – I’ve yet to receive their signed agreement.

Thanks

sorry but you have been conned!!
put it down to experiance.

Bible Prophecy 3: Do you deny the Bible is the Word of God?

Jewish Achievement

Bible passage: Genesis 12:2-3
Written: perhaps 1400 BC
Fulfilled: Throughout history
In Genesis 12:2-3, and in Genesis 28:10-15, the Bible said that the descendants of Abraham and the descendants of Abraham’s grandson, Jacob, would be a blessing for people worldwide. Jacob is the father of the 12 Tribes of Israel (the Jews). In 1898, Mark Twain wrote an essay for Harper’s New Monthly Magazine that discussed how the Jews have had an impact on the world:

" … the Jews constitute but one percent of the human race. It suggests a nebulous dim puff of stardust lost in the blaze of the Milky Way. Properly, the Jew ought hardly to be heard of, but he is heard of, has always been heard of. He is as prominent on the planet as any other people, and his commercial importance is extravagantly out of proportion to the smallness of his bulk. His contributions to the world’s list of great names in literature, science, art, music, finance, medicine, and abstruse learning are also way out of proportion to the weakness of his numbers. He has made a marvelous fight in this world, in all the ages; and had done it with his hands tied behind him. He could be vain of himself, and be excused for it. The Egyptian, the Babylonian, and the Roman followed, and made a vast noise, and they are gone. Other peoples have sprung up and held their torch high for a time, but it burned out, and they sit in twilight now, or have vanished. The Jew saw them all, beat them all… All things are mortal but the Jew; all other forces pass, but he remains. What is the secret of his immortality?"

Genesis 12:2-3
"I will make you into a great nation and I will bless you; I will make your name great, and you will be a blessing. I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse; and all peoples on earth will be blessed through you.”
