Can you drive a decent amount of traffic to your site by buying expiring domain names and redirecting traffic?

Also I am not an html pro so if this does work is there an easy way to set the domain to redirect traffic to your site?

Buying an expired domain will bring you traffic. you need to know if this web site had links to it.
for example. i bought http://dogs-world.net
this domain expired and had existing links to the web site.

How to find Whois information for a domain, even if it is behind Whois protection?

Hi, does anyone know a way around the Whois protection? To see who actually owns a domain name?

A domain name owner has been harassing me, theres just got to be a way of finding out who it is, without having to take "legal action"

What do you guys think off domaintools.com?

If someone has put a privacy protection on their whois domain records, there is no way you can see those without authority or requisite permissions. Your best bet is to google or do a yahoo search on the domain name to see if you get any clues.

where do you complain if a web host is reneging on their unlimited domains offer?

I just paid for a plan which claims unlimited domain names included in the hosting. As soon as I started asking about how to add new domains, they changed the help screen in my cpanel (no more manage domains button) and they don’t reply to my emails. I am still within 30-days money back guarantee, but I want to give them a chance to respond first.

It seams you have given them the opportunity to respond. If you have opened a support ticket with the company and they have not responded to you then I would contact billing and first ask for a refund. If it is not given I would file a claim with the company you used to make payment to them. I would also suggest looking up some web hosting review site’s and writing a review about the company so others searching this company up can see your personal experience. Hope this helps!

I just became a reseller with makemoneysellingdomainnames to resell web hosting and domain names?

I just became a reseller with makemoneysellingdomainnames to resell web hosting and domain names. I joined because I build a decent amount of websites for my own use. I was wondering why a lot of webmasters and IT people aren’t in the reseller business. I drive a taxi and talk with a lot of IT people and almost none of them take advantage of controlling the cost for web hosting. Isn’t this strange? Any comments welcome.

I think you’re wrong when you write, "I was wondering why a lot of webmasters and IT people aren’t in the reseller business."

In fact, an awful lot of people, including webmasters, IT professionals, and others, are in the hosting and domain reselling business. There are certainly at least "tens of thousands," and possibly many hundreds of thousands of "web-hosting" businesses out there, most run by people who also do web development work.

Some professionals do this "surreptitiously," creating an apparently-separate company which they use to register and host client sites. Many do it openly, telling their clients that they own the hosting or registration company.

Those professionals who do NOT resell web-hosting or domain-registration services frequently believe that their sole charge should be based on their time, not on reselling services at potentially inflated prices.

In addition, some professionals choose not to resell anything other than their own services, because they recognize that over time, the level of service at most hosting and registration companies can change.

Over the past 12 years, I’ve hosted my own and clients’ web sites on several dozen different servers (including dedicated servers, colocated servers, and many shared servers), and registered domains with many different registrars. Recently, I consolidated all my registrations to a single registrar, and I also consolidated all hosting to a single provider, but it’s likely that I’ll move some or all of this within 12 months.

How do I make my domain name go to my site?

I recently registered a domain name, but my site is hosted with a different provider. How do I make my domain name reach my actual site?

You have to goto the site where you have your domain name registered though and have them redirect it to your actual site where its hosted at

SEO Domain name: Can two or more keywords share a letter in a domain and still be relevant to search engines?

My question is – which is better for SEO, e.g. natureequity.com ir naturequity.com ? I noticed that Google finds both keywords in both cases but I am not sure of their value to Google. Would it be worse to share a letter or even a syllable or even better since it has less characters than the first, regular domain name? Thank you!

Actually, from the search engine perspective, the order from best to worst is:
nature-equity.com
nature_equity.com
natureequity.com
naturequity.com

Keep in mind that there is also a user click through perpective–meaning that users are more likely to click on one than another. It so happens that the above order is also best for click throughs too.

How do you host and create a .com domain from your computer?

I was wondering how to host AND CREATE a .com domain name from your computer. My main concern is creating a .com domain name. I know there are going to be people that say just use this site but I actually want to create my own .com domain and not have to buy one from another company like godaddy.com, justhost.com etc. and then host it from my computer. I was wondering if this is done with Windows Server 2003/2008? If you know please give me a link to a tutorial or just type the answer. Thanks.

Nokia N95 – Accessing Gmail HOSTED domain email services?

I dont seem to be able to access this from my N95. Please note this is NOT for normal gmail services, I am aware of the app etc. I am only interested in HOSTED domain name services.
I modified the MX records of my domain to use the hosted services. No offence, but I dont think you have really grasped the problem. What you are saying is irrelivant to my problem.

if the "google apps for domains" that you are referring to is not accessible from the N95, then the problem is that the url to access the mail of your website is a pretty long one and uses cookies. if you had instead used MX records and modified them, you would have been abl;e to acces them. to do that you need to have a paid host or a paid domain.

What is the problem with my website. I got a starter hosting package plus domain name and made the home page.?

What is the problem with my website. I got a starter hosting package plus domain name and made the home page but when I write the URL http://codeexplained.com it shows me some messages about security certificates and asks me to log in using the username and password which the hosting company provided me. Also I sent the URLs to my friends and they say that the site shows only the text but not the pictures. Why?
It is not a free package. I have paid for it and the src in the img tag is also correct that is becuase when the page asks for my username and password that the host has provided me for the administration when entered then those pictures are shown but if I just cancel the dialog box that demands for the username and password then only the text is shown on the page.

you may also not be using the correct src for the image
