Any domain name registrars offer payment via Amazon Payments (Simple Pay or Checkout)? ?

I’ve been making money through Mturk, and I want to use that money to purchase some domain names. I’ve been looking for two days to find domain name registrars that accept Amazon Payments. It seems like they all take Paypal and major credit cards only. Does anyone know of any domain registry sites that accept Amazon Payments?

I have also been looking for someone that accepts Amazon Payments. Other than Amazon.com I can’t find anyone. I even checked Target and endless.com since they run their websites and they don’t accept it either. I think it may be because it is so new still.

I have a business that I wish to register a domain name. What should I look for in a domain registry company?

You can check at http://www.internic.net/regist.html for a list of companies accredited by ICANN to act as registrars in one or more TLDs:

For information on the ICANN registrar accreditation process, please refer to the ICANN Accredited Registrar Information Page http://www.icann.org/registrars/accreditation.htm

domain name registry in texas?

You mean is there a domain REGISTRAR based in Texas?

The Registry is the authoritative database record holder for a compiled list of registrations. For .com and .net, it’s currently managed by VeriSign.

Instead of registering domain names directly (due to contract restrictions), the Registry has a select group of companies called "registrars" to do the registration and management directly.

One registrar I know that’s based in Texas is GKG.net. I’ve not used them so I don’t know how effective and efficient they are.

Domain name registration, SEO, Affiliates, and more…?

Does any one have any ideas about setting up a domain name registry, sources of info, resources, and any other related particulars??

I’m looking to start a domain site, either as a registrar (direct) or as an affiliate (third party).

Which affiliates are you familiar with, and how has their service been? What technical difficulties have you encountered?

What experiences have you had with a registration site, and what would you like to see as part of the service?

Any feedback will be greatly appreciated.

Here is my reseller site: http://www.TemeculaValleyDomains.net Very easy to set up. It took me about 5 min. from start to finish. I make about $30 per month.

Where can I find Recent Domain Name sales listings?

Hi, I am looking for some sort of Domain Registry or something from where I can get a COMPLETE list of recent domain sales. Please dont ask me to check dnjournal.com. I want to goto the top source from where websites like dnjournal.com or dnwire.com or other sites are getting listings of recent domain sales. Come on, this is a challenge, I have invested around 2 days trying to search such a listing.

Hello,

The answer to your question is that you simply cannot find a comprehensive list of all "recently sold" domains. This is because you can sell a domain privately, and push them to other people’s accounts. This does not show up on popular domain selling sites.

Also, each registrar will maintain the information for that domain. Or, the site the domain name was sold on (if it was sold on a domain selling site at all) would have this information exclusively.

So, again, there is no comprehensive list of all domain names sold.

Why should I register my domain name? Is there any free domain registry on the web?

By registering a domain name, you can basically "own" that domain, so no-one else can use it.
If you want a domain name like http://www.yourname.com, then it will cost money (prices vary for each web host).
If you want a subdomain name, then many web hosts offer it as free, like https://www.co.cc/ or http://www.freedomain.co.nr/

Some web hosts allow you to get a free domain name if you sign up through their services: http://webhostinggeeks.com/freedomainnames.html

If I bought a domain name from Yahoo?

A domain name from Yahoo a few months ago, how come I’m getting a bill for $30 from the "Domain Name Registry of America" for that domain name?
They want the money by August 28th. What’s up with that? They’re telling me if I don’t pay up it will mean "loss of your online identity."
I am dismayed.

1) Go to www.networksolutions.com.
2) Scroll to the bottom of the page.
3) At the top of the grey portion of the page, in blue letters look for WHOIS. Click that link.
4) In the text box labelled "Enter a search term:" enter your domain name and click Search.
5) This may be a little hard to find, but in the details about your domain registration you need to find the following information:
a) Sponsoring Registrar
b) Expiration Date
c) Status
d) Created On

It is possible/probable that even though you are purchasing from Yahoo! they are then purchasing thier domain names through a third party.

Sponsoring Registrar: If this is not listed as the Domain Name Registry of America (or possibly an abbreviation) then you may be a target of a phishing scam.
Expiration Date: If the Registrar is correct and this date is approaching then you need to take care of your annual renewal.
Status: Should be "OK"
Created On: Should be equal or close to the date you purchased.

If you still have questions please do not hesitate to contact me directly via email. I own a web hosting company and deal with issues such as this on a regular basis. I would be happy to answer any further questions you may have or offer some advice at no charge.

Domain Name Registry Dilemma?

Hi,

Can anyone here explain what it means when the registry status of a domain name is listed as clientrenewprohibited? I’m asking because I have a cyberstalker who registered a site in my name and has been using it to threaten and harrass me. I wrote to the webhost/registrar company for the site. They told me I’d need to get an injunction to shut down the site. Can’t afford legal help, so I’m hoping to reclaim the site if the owner lets it expire. Whois says it expires this month, but there’s the strange status "clientrenewprohibited." Does that mean the domain name own has paid for extra protection? Or could it mean that the webhost company actually looked at the site, realized it’s offensive and is preventing the owner from renewing the registration? Thanks for your help!

According to
http://icann.org
clientRenewProhibited
The clientRenewProhibited status may be added to an object by either the registrar who owns the object or the registry administrator. If an object is on clientRenewProhibited, it may not be renewed until the status is removed.

It says it about a 1/10 of the way down the page where it client etc prohibited stuff
It looks like the name will not be able to be renewed which sounds good for your side

how come registry won’t accept 2 letter domain name, but there are 2 letter domain name out there like qq.com

how come domain name registry like netsol.com won’t accept two letters domain name, is it because they don’t exist anymore?

All possible two and three letter domain names were taken long ago. Entrepeneurs registered every possible combination in the hopes of being able to sell the names for big bucks.

Best domain name registry?

What is the best site for domain name registry and web hosting? Don’t need anything too extravagant.

I have had good experience and customer service (a real person) with GoDaddy. They are priced right too!
