Not a shortener, but the actual shortest available dot com domain. Is there a tool for this?
I want to just click search and have the shortest names come up. If i type in yx, ds, 12, it would take forever.

I recommend one of these: http://www.hosttell.com/

How do I add a "Domain Name" search box to my website?

Does anybody know how to add a "Domain Name" search box to a website/webpage? Something similar to the Domain Search tool found on the Yahoo Small Business page. I would like people to type in a Domain name to check for availability. If anyone knows how to add one to a webpage please help

You will need to sign up as an affiliate with a leading domain name registrar. Once they accept you as an affiliate, you can then log in to your control panel and go to the promotion section which will give you the HTML code for the search form.

What Is My Computer’s Domain Name? And How Do I Find It?

I Have A Dell Laptop, And I’m Trying To Figure Out What My Domain Name Is. The Reason I Need It, Is So I Can Connect To My Laptop Using The Remote Desktop Connection Tool. I Know My Computer Name, The Username, And Password However I Just Can’t Find The Domain Name. Some Other Windows Computers I’ve Looked At Show The Domain Name In The Computer Properties, Along With The Computer Name And The Description. However, Mine Doesn’t It Only Shows The Workgroup, Computer Name, And The Description. I’m Running Windows XP On Both Computers I’m Using In The Process. I Think They Might Have Different Service Packs Though. So, How Do I Find My Domain Name, Thanks Again.

If your laptop is only showing a Workgroup name, your laptop is not configured to work in a Domain. To connect to a domain the PCs must be running XP Pro or Media Center Edition.

Where can I lookup a domain name to see what other domains are on the same server?

I know that this is possible, I’ve done it before, but forgot where I found it. Basically you submit a domain and the tool returns the other domains sharing the same ip address. This allows me to find other websites owned by the same company.

How can I choose a good domain name?

I want to start my very own tech-related blog/website. I saw both because I want to have a multitude of things like videos, music, etc.

The thing is…I cannot come up with a good name/domain for it. I’ve tried suggestion tools and everything, but still no luck. How can I come up with a good name? Any suggestions?

I have used the suggestion tool at http://www.domaincityhosting.com and it worked out well for me.

But if you have a catchy nick-name try (nick-name)tech.com

Also if the .com is taken, .net or .info will work for a tech/information site.

Domain name?

What is the best way to create a domain name or website?
I’m looking for someplace with helpful tools.
It can’t be too complicated.
And it has to be able to create my website with .com
Any Ideas?

If you go to godaddy.com you can get a .com domain name and a month of premium hosting for 6.99 / month plus 99 cents for the domain name. It’s pretty straightforward to create it and they have stuff they’ll load for you if you want like a wiki or a forum or photo gallery or ecommerce or whatever. If you use the coupon code hash1 then you get 10% off your order. The link in the source is a whole page of coupons depending on what you are trying to do. This isn’t spam / advertisement btw I just like them and I use them for both my personal domain and the site I manage for my business.

How to check when a domain name was registered?

Anyone know how to find when a domain name was registered? Because there is a particular online school and I wanted to check how legit they really were. Apparently, they have been around for over 6 years so I wanted to see when they actually registered their domain name.

Anyone know any good tools?
