dot.tk has free www.Yourdomainname.tk names. And free webs, geocities, bravenet, tripod, piczo, angelfire, and other sites provide free hosting.

I would like to make a website but i don’t want to pay for the domain name fee,but I don’t want a sub domain like www.freewebs.com/mywebsite but i want it www.mywebsite.com a full but free domain name which isn’t part of a website like mywebsite.bravenet.com,Which also offers an email account with it but thats optional.Please find me one that is free forever.
My solution for you- Don’t make a website if you’re going to have all of these demands and you don’t want to pay for it.

There is no such thing as a company giving out free domain names, and if so, it filed bankruptcy ages ago due to the other 1000+ people who also want a free domain.
Not to mention, nothing is permanent, if you do find a free domain (Which again, you won’t), it’ll only be temporary.
The best thing you can do is a free domain redirection (.tk, .co.nr, etc.) or you can buy a domain name and find free domain hosting, but you’ll have restrictions.
As a previous answererer said, nothing is free.

I have been thorough literally hundreds of sites looking for one where i could get a completely free domain name (in the shape of .com, .org, .net or similar) and I haven’t found one.
So, does anyone perhaps know of a site that offers free domain names?
I realize there have been other questions on the same subject but there is not a single clear answer on any of them.
They cost money, and nobody gets nothing for free.
There is little incentive for a company to give away domains even with some kind of advertising tie-in.
So simply you will have to shell out the cash, they are pretty cheap after all!

I have an editor and webspace already. I do not want or need something that gives me a free domain when I buy hosting. I do not want to spend any money at all. I also do not want a subdomain (ie. www.bbbbb.provider.com or www.provider.com/bbbbb). Just a free domain is all I need.

I remember seeing one in a magazine a couple of years ago. Something like 3 years free using a .edu domain name.
