Can I use a registered trademark in my company’s domain name? The registered trademark is not in the co.s name
I want to use the word FICO in my company’s domain name (example – www.ficosRcool.com) but it is a registered trademark. I know that I cannot use the trademark in my company’s name but am I breaking trademark law by using the word FICO in my domain?
Thanks guys!
I really do want to use the word fico as the company who trademarked it uses it. for instance, www.getabetterfico.com
Thanks!

LOL. No, that’s perfectly fine. You can have the domain http://www.TrafFICOscars.com too. FICO Fits in nicely in lots of words. The trademark is is in reference to using the exact word.

No you can not use it in your domain name, thats cybersquatting. Using a trade marked name in a domain name will get you a c & d letter from an attorney rather quickly.

The best advice, and safe thing to do would be avoiding using a trademark in your URL. Someone purchased myiPhone.com and Apple was successful in forcing them to quit using the domain. There is a lot of info about this on the web, you may also want to run some searches for other domains that don’t use FICO in the name–maybe something with “credit score” would be a better choice.
If you’re interested in running a search on some available domain names you might want to try Bargain Beaver (bargainbeaver.com), a new domain company that has domains for only $1.99 a year with hosting. Their regular domain price is only $6.95–that’s more than 3 bucks cheaper than GoDaddy. I hope this helps.
