Realistically, What is the difference is a Socialist Republic and the platform of the Democratic Party?

Their views seem to be pretty close to identical. 1) Redistribution of wealth. 2) Promotion of a secular society. 3) Government regulation of everything. 4) Denial of personal property, i.e. the Government owns everything (Examples: Death Tax, Imminent Domain) 5) Government Control of Media and Free exchange of ideas (Fairness Doctrine) 6) Denial of people to defend themselves from the Government (repealing the 2nd Amendment). These are just a few of the similarities that I have found. Also let us not forget that the DNC is not going to listen to the peoples vote from Florida and Michigan and they may forgo the popular election all together and name their nominee via super delegates. If I am wrong then I am willing to listen to intelligent responses. Although I am sure that I will get a large amount of rants from Socialist that hate to be called what they truly are.

Imminent Domain? LOL. You republicans never cease to amaze me. What is Imminent Domain? I think you mean Eminent Domain you idiot.

Your 1 and 4 contridict each other – how can the government own everything and then force people to redistribute what they own?

When was the second amendment repealed? LOL. Do you mean the Brady Bill, the largest gun regulation bill passed in decades. That Socialist Reagan!
I hate to break the sad news to you but you and you’re drunken redneck friends couldn’t defend yourselves against any branch of our military no matter how well armed you might be.

I love it when NeoCons make these ridiculous generalizing statements proving they have no idea what they’re talking about.

The idea that the government owns everything (Eminent Domain) is being championed by a REPUBLICAN in Texas. Governor Rick Perry is well connected to a Spanish Contractor named Cintra. He’s trying to clear the path for this private company to build the Trans Texas Corridor, a large system of roads and rail that would wipe out millions of acres of farmland in Texas. Many people would be forced out of their homes by this move.

Perry kept the contract a secret.

One of Perry’s former aides was hired and then re-hired by Cintra, the company contracted to build the corridor.

I guess this really represents good conservative values, doesn’t it? A private company will come in and railroad people out of their homes to gain a profit, and they can do this because of their connections to the governor.

    Yes, indeed…good conservative values.

By the way, Perry was the governor who followed Bush in Texas…He was Lt. Governor under Bush.

    1) Redistribution of wealth – well both parties are for this actually. The Republicans want to redistribute wealth to religious groups and corporations through tax breaks and subsidies.

    2) Promotion of a secular society. No, Democrats (in general) believe in freedom of or from religion. Some Republicans believe in establishing a theocratic society.

    3) Government regulation of everything. Too general of a statement. Democrats believe in government regulation of some things, Republicans do as well, such as the ability of a woman to choose a medical procedure.

    4) Denial of personal property. Sorry this is a huge strawman argument with no merit.

    5) Government control of media. No, not control but regulation to an extent (see #3 above).

    6) Denial of self defense (pardon my rephrasing). Feel free to defend yourself, but if you think the second amendment allows possession of any armament without regard to public safety then you are deluded. Already, there is a long list of arms that private citizens are prohibited from owning including, nuclear weapons, biological agents, rocket launchers, etc.
