Melina Sedo & Detlef Engel dance a Tango vals in Germany
A Rodriguez Vals danced at a Milonga 2004/5 in Kaiserslautern, Germany. It’s quite old and we do find several flaws in it nowadays but nevertheless it’s our favourite vals, which we wanted to share with you.

Beautiful, measured, precise, musical – all typical elements of the Detlef and Melina style. Would they consider touring Australia??

Beautiful! After doing the tango for 14 years I got burned out. This video got me back into it after a year’s absence when I missed tango not at all. – Larry de Los Angeles

Demystification it is. I am appalled by my crudility. Seriously, the whole piece is somewhat stilish. That it might be due to convenient setting and proper decisions make a very apt result. Congratulations. For the real arty effort, would have to check it out. Thanks for the precisions.

Thanks a lot, but you really overestimate our video’s features: The black and white is due to the night-shot-modus, the rear projection is a mirror and our costumes were actually black (night-shot-modus again). So, only plain Tango here. We “produced” art elsewhere, as e.g. during our “noche de Tango” in a local church: video projections, light installations, lomograpy, an orchestra in the apsis, tangos played on the churches organ… and more. So we may nevertheless qualify as artists.

Well done. Very sophisticated. I say sophisticated because this seems to be a very smart film. The black and white, the simultaneous rear-projection, the costumes are a clear indication that these guys are not only doing tango, but they may be doing art as well. Salute to the picaflor y su novia.

Tight, small and intimate. The best tango there is.
