Some of the other factors (from what I have reviewed) is that I believe a domain name can’t be copyrighted,,,,only trademarked. From what I have seen,,,the company name is copyrighted, and not in fact, trademarked.
If you are knowledgable at all on this issue, I would appreciate your help on this matter.

I thought I found the perfect domain name for my all-in-one nutritional site. It turns out there is a small company that has a trademarked suppliment that has a similar name as my site. I won’t be selling any nutritional products on my site however I may review some. Would this company have a claim? Should I have some type of agreement with this company before I start this site?

Perfect Food Company Inc that sells hemp products is managed by Ryan Sharp who poses as its president and the hemp distributor is a robbery in a broad daylight. It has two websites – one Canadian: www.perfectfood.ca and the other American at: www.naturesperfectfoods.com . This man steals singlehandedly money from orders placed through his site with no intention of ever fulfilling it. When you call him – he has an automated message being played saying that the company is experiencing significant shipment delays.Your money is gone and you have no product in your hands. This scam artist has the scheme well set-up. He uses legitimate services such as Credit Card processing and PayPal. He even has a VeriSign seal that is valid till 2010 which means Credit Card transactions are safe, but… you will not see your money back. I decided to make this video as a warning to others who are looking for organic hemp products online and think it will be less expensive to buy in bulk with the free shipping offer. Beware. This is a fraud. Please check Better Business Bureau (Vancouver branch) online – you will find under Perfect Food Company 22 complaints filed since February 2009. None resolved. This business, not affiliated with BBB, received F mark (the lowest possible) and is still going! The reports have been filed with the Canadian police – RCMP in Vancouver as well as with other government agencies dealing with consumer fraud in Canada and in the USA (IC3). Ripoff Reports website …
lets say i own “greenhat.com” and then someone decides to create a business called GreenHat and trade marks it- can they take me to court to get that domain name – or – do they have to buy it from me to get it?
I would like to register a domain that has a large company’s name in it and use the site to generate leads for a service that my business provides. for example: homedepotairconditionerservice.com and then actually use the site…not hold it hostage to home depot. Would I be crossing any lines here? Could Home Depot shut it down and take the domain?
Our domain name is about to expire at Meccahosting, We’ve been trying to extend it for over month, but they are reluctant to do it or not willing to release our domain name. We’re afraid to loose our domain name. We the owner of the domain name and we have to right to extend. What can we do legally besides from reporting to BBB. (better business bureau)
