I really want a particular domain name. It is previously registered, but the the registration expires in November. It was a two year registration and it is not an actual site, it’s parked. So I think the registrar owns it. It has a private registration but seems like these guys do that.
Anyway, should I wait until the expiration date and try to buy it then or try to contact the owner? I don’t want to use a broker seems like a waste of money. They also offer a “back order” option too sounds like BS. Is it likely that the registrar would just let the registration expire or would they be evil and snatch it up again?
I have the exact same domain except its dot net not dot com. Thoughts?
Good advice. I’m going to sit on this one for a while. No deal!

Do I have to get a copyright? Trademark? I am just worrying about the name right now as I will be officially forming the business (probably as a corporation) in the future. Also how much does it cost to protect the name and logo?

I keep getting offers from groups like “Liberty Names” to renew my domain name but I just want to do it with Yahoo again. Unfortuanately, I cannot find anywhere on the Yahoo sight that actually gives me the opportunity to “renew.”

I search US trade marks ect. and there was none. I searched the State in which this thing is located and there was no trade names or corporations recorded.
I registered the domain name.
I now found 3 registered “trade names” registered in Nevada.
Is my domains safe I have them cash parked right now.
The business is not using the trade names in business though it has the .com registered and forwarded. I bought a .info of the name.

I have developed a product and will soon be marketing it. I have already filed the application to register the name as a trademark for the company. However, the name is registered as a domain name that is not currently and has not been used by the current owner since it was acquired 9 years ago. What protection does he have and what rights do i have to take the product to market?

We are launching a website. The site allows website owners to list their site in the respective category. This is a premium service where in website owners need to pay for the listing. The site has social networking features where any body can join the site and give testimonials to the sites, rate them and vote for the sites. We are using a domain which is a combination of an already registered trademark plus “sites”. So the domain name is like this xyzsites.com, where “xyz” is the name of the registered trademark. Our service is different from the xyz even though the social networking features are some what same. Please do let me know Where do I stand when it comes to legal issues in USA. Would be very greatfull for your advice. THANK YOU.
