What is the best site to sell or auction off about 43 domain names ?
Hi Comp- I’m actually signed up with Sedo. Ebay concerns me because all the domain names seem really cheap on there.
To transfer a domain name from Godaddy you need an EPP code (Authorization code) but in Domain manager you can only send it by e-mail to the Administrative Contact (which is Godaddy’s subsidiary DomainsByProxy). I can’t login to DomainsByProxy because I don’t have login details and the Godaddy account details aren’t accepted. So I’m in a limbo here and have no choice to let the domain names expire (since I’m not going to renew with those cretins).
Isn’t there an arbitration possible at ICANN. Surely they are somehow legally obliged to provide ME with the transfer code and not only their wholly owned subsidiary?
This article finally resolved my question:
The site D-addicts.com is down. Is anyone else getting the message: This domain name expired on Oct 27 2010 03:48PM . Why is it that I’m getting this message. I was able to access it yesterday
I posted a story on a website a couple years ago and only just recalled it today. I went to the site, thinking it’d be fun to read it again after so long, but only got an ad saying something like “this domain name has been put up for auction. Buyers please contact us with your bid.” I assume this means everything on that site is now deleted, the whole site is empty and waiting for a new owner to fill it up with whatever. Am I right, or is everything that used to be on that site still stored somewhere?
I was adviced from Registerfly that my domain name falconblanco.com would expire and that I should renew by paying and move the domain to Registerfly. I paid and received payment confirmation and instuctions:
1) – Go to https://registerfly.com/whois/ and do a whois lookup on your name to the current registrar. Go to their website and request the AUTHORIZATION code of the domain name and ensure the name is unlocked. If the name is with ENOM.COM, request the login info of your account.
2) – Once you have the code, go to https://registerfly.com/transfer/status.php enter the code in the box next to the domain name and select the process button, next to it.
3) – You may receive an email from the losing registrar and also from US to approve the transfer once it is approved, it may take 1-2 business days for the name to transfer from the prior company to us.
I did all that. The problem is that at ENOM.COM my domain does not show, I can’t get the authorisation code. I’m stuck!
I tried for days and now my Web site doesn’t show up and also I can’t receive email. From the helpdesk of my host lunarpages I got the same instruction and it doesn’t work because at http://enom.com my domain doesn’t show up and there seems to be no way to connect with a person. I wrote several email, but without response.
I feel impotent and don’t know what to do. It is like asking for a working permission and they tell you that you can only get this if you are resident, but you only get the residence if you have working permission. I am desperate. Please help me. What can I do?
At Enom my domain doesn’t show up, I really tried every thing after loging in.
I went to eNom and did what you wrote. Loged in and searched for falconblanco.com and there was nothing found. I am sure I didn’t make any mistake. I will phone tomorrow morning, now it is too late.
I called eNOM and was surprised that I could talk with an operator, he seemed to be professional and was nice and calm, so that felt good and calmed down my esperation, beside he gave me detailed instruction what to do. Pretty complicate indeed but somehow I see clear now. Thank you both for your advice, I appreciate this ‘answers’ more and more…
Last question, What sites do you suggest going to to “Buy” domain names, as oppesed to leasing them for 1 to 10 years.
Here’s the answer that melancholygiant gave:
There aren’t any. You can only register domain names for a period of time, and must renew them when the registration expires. This is the case for all domain names. As long as the registration is renewed, you own it. Once you let the registration expire, it’s up for grabs.
