Linking two Websites into one?

I have two websites and would like to link them into one. The first one http://www.webauctionsdaily.com has been in operation for more than a year now, but the new one http://www.webauctionsdude.com is still under constructon. The original idea was to keep them seperate, but I changed my mind and would like to take advantage of all the advertising I have been doing for the first website. I would therefore like to creat tabs on the footer of the first website that can be clicked to link to the pages of the second website. Also I do not want to continue hosting the second website or even keep the domain name. I want a bottom that says “general auctions” on the first website that will open the pages of the second website. Thanks and please advise!!

Certain websites don’t work! Technical help please!?

Since moving my computer back home my internet has been playing up only letting me view certain websites and not others that it would let me view beforehand such as facebook and my university email page and is becoming a hassle. I havn’t changed any of the settings on my comp since moving back and the websites work on the other computer in the house.

The error message reads:

Page Load Error
Address not found
www.facebook.com could not be found. Please check the name and try again.
The browser could not find the host server for the provided address.

* Did you make a mistake when typing the domain? (e.g. “ww.mozilla.org” instead of

* Are you certain this domain address exists? Its registration may have expired.

* Are you unable to browse other sites? Check your network connection and DNS server settings.

* Is your computer or network protected by a firewall or proxy? Incorrect settings can interfere with Web browsing.

Any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated
My default browser is firefox but the websites don’t work on internet explorer either with a similar error message displayed, What is opera? and how would that help?

How SEO Work With Two Related WebSites?

Hi,

I currently run and own a sports related website that consists of sports articles, sports directory and a sports forum. I rank well with MSN, Yahoo and for a few keywords with Google. In fact, my site ranks well with yahoo when searching for sports articles; my site in the top 11.

I’d like to keep my current sports site and design the site more for sports articles and directory, since both are doing well.

That being said, I’d like to open up my own sports cards trading shop. I would sell products in an auction format. Visitors would signup for a weekly newsletter that would inform them of new auctions that have been added.

Should I design this sports auction store as another domain name? It would not hurt my search engine placement, penalize or ban me if I run two sports related websites and link them together?

Again, one of the sports sites I own is just a directory, forums and articles. The other would be my very own sports store in the format of auction style.

Websites and e-commerce continue to grow

A new study has found that the number of new websites is continuing to grow at a rapid pace. The report, from web management company Verisign, found that nearly 200 million domain names were registered in the first quarter of 2010, an increase of six per cent compared to last year. The company also referenced a study from the Information Technology and Innovation Foundation that claimed that worldwide online commerce was now worth $1.5 trillion and could be worth up to $3.8 trillion by 2020. The study also estimated that online commerce in Europe had grown by 85 per cent between 2004 and 2009 and rated Denmark, Sweden and the UK amongst the top e-commerce nations in the world.

inbrowser toolbars break websites

more info at www.watchingwebsites.com – this shows how an inbrowser toolbar completely breaks a popular website. Inbrowser toolbars are created by third party websites that act as an overlay on top of a website you want to visit. As this video demonstrates, the toolbars have the capabilities of interfering with the original page source, effectively breaking the destination site. What’s worse, this results in “analytics juice” (an increase in page count) to the toolbar, and not necessarily the resulting site. The toolbar is unwittingly stealing the content (google analytics and clicky) and the popularity (quantcast) of the resulting site.

If a website’s domain name is for sale, does that mean everything on the site is now gone?

I posted a story on a website a couple years ago and only just recalled it today. I went to the site, thinking it’d be fun to read it again after so long, but only got an ad saying something like “this domain name has been put up for auction. Buyers please contact us with your bid.” I assume this means everything on that site is now deleted, the whole site is empty and waiting for a new owner to fill it up with whatever. Am I right, or is everything that used to be on that site still stored somewhere?
